Date: Sept 27-30, 2024
Destination/Route Name: Natchez Trace/Elvis CANCELED
Ride Description: The Natchez Trace have been traveled for thousand of years. Indians used it to travel throughout the southeast and trader used it to return to north after floating their goods down the Ohio and Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico. The four day ride will take us over highway and state roads to south of Nashville, down the Natchez Trace to Tupelo, MS. Return along the Natchez Trace to Bowling Green KY, followed a trip the the Buffalo Trace Distillery before heading home.
Day 1 (Sept 27): Our adventure starts with interstate riding to the south side of Cincinnati where will pick up state roads to south of Nashville. We’ll grab lunch along the way before bedding down for the night.

Day 2 (Sept 28): After breakfast we’ll take a quick ride to the start of Natchez Trace. The rest of day will be enjoying a relaxing ride along the Natchez Trace, stopping at points of interest to learn about the history of the Trace. One we get to Tupelo, we’ll swing by Elvis’s birthplace for photo ops and learn about “the King”. Dinner is planned at a nearby fantastic Mexican restaurant.
Lodging: Best Western Plus Tupelo-Rm rate $94 plus 9.25%. Call hotel (662)847-0300 and tell them you have a “preferred rate” for Powder Keg HOG. Cancellation policy is 24 hours prior.
Day 3 (Sept 29): We’ll return north along the Natchez Trace, stopping at a few more points of interest. After exiting the Trace it will interstate and local highways to Bowling Green, KY to rest and relax for the final leg home.

Day 4 (Sept 30): The final leg home will be over interstate and state/county roads. We’ll stop at Buffalo Trace Distillery to shop at their store. Leave room in your saddle bags to grab a few bottles of bourbon to take home.
Road Conditions: The ride is mostly country roads and US highways, with some interstate. As will most country roads, there are portions that are gentle curves.
Costs: Hotels and meals, possible tolls.
Miles: Day 1- 328; Day 2-211; Day 3-278; Day 4-265
Break /Stops: Gas/comfort stops are planned every 1 to 1.5 hours.
