Kentucky Emu Ride

Description: This is an iron butt ride!!

We start the day with a brief ride on the highway from Wendy’s to the Milford Parkway onto Route 50. From there, we begin the very scenic ride thru the back roads of south east Ohio and cross the bridge to the town of Maysville, KY. We continue the journey on some of the most picturesque Kentucky backroads as we head towards Rt. 8 and follow the Ohio river on our way to Portsmouth. Along the route, watch for feathers, miniature troll castle and burial plots in the side yard of a home…. only in Kentucky. General road conditions are good but as we roll east on Rt. 8, we found that if you ride in the left side of your lane, you will avoid the road breaks that are on the right half of the lane.

In Portsmouth we will stop at the Scioto Ribber for lunch. From there, time permitting, we will swing through the Portsmouth Murals on our way west and north to SR 125 which will take us on a twisty ride through the Shawnee State Forrest. Total mileage for the ride should be in the range of 250.

Road Conditions:  Good to very good

Costs:  $10-$30 general menu cost and depends how hungry you are. We recommend the Ribeye.
